Who We Are?
Rosemary Ginko is President and Founder of Save Our Oceans, LLC; it is a woman-owned company. Its main office is located in Seattle, Washington. Ms. Ginko has a Master's in Aquatic Fisheries with a minor in biological oceanography and ecological restoration from the University of Florida. She is a Marine Ecologist. Her company does coastal restoration to reduce sea level rise, reduce carbon, increase water purity and clarity, improve plant & animal diversity and coastal beauty. Her company also tests for toxic algae, restores wetlands, evaluates culverts for removal, improves fish passage, soil and water testing, invasive fish and plant inventories and restores river hydrology. The company incorporates the implementation of Natural Capital (Stanford University) approaches into our problem-solving techniques. We use key factors for success to better understand critical barriers and we problem-solve to ameliorate and/or remove those barriers to success.
Our knowledgeable team offers full-service consultation and advice in designing and planning. Including nature-based solutions in the portfolio of adaptation options can lead to better outcomes for people and nature. Nature-based solutions can reduce flood risk, increase healthy functioning coastal ecosystems such as tidal marshes, wetlands, beaches, mangroves, oyster reefs, and coral reefs. All of these natural coastlines protect people & property by absorbing wave & wind energy by storing water. They also provide habitat for wildlife. This also includes climate change mitigation through carbon sequestration and storage.
The best way to fight climate change is to work with Mother Nature and all ecosystems which were designed to work with one another to maintain our earth's balance and health. We must restore a sense of ecosystem health by putting back what we have taken away from coastal areas. Our oceans are our key ecosystems which comprise 71% of the earth. They provide at least 50% of our world's oxygen. We must restore, protect & conserve our oceans to survive as a species on earth. Without the ocean functioning as a healthy ecosystem, we will not survive, and neither will anything else. We must act NOW! There is no more time to waste. Let's restore, preserve and conserve our beautiful natural resources to maintain diversity and ecosystem health on our beautiful earth to survive as a species on this planet.
